Chez Karine

What I like about this store is their cute small bottles where the cakes are placed. You will never get disappointed when giving it to someone as a gift or a token of appreciation. Also, if you just feel like giving something.

While waiting for my friend and since it's Saturday afternoon, the crowd in Serendra is quite uhm --- y'know, there are families strolling, walking and sight seeing just to get out of their homes; I didn't want to stay outside. The weather is just EXHAUSTING. I stayed inside Chez Karine and bought these cuties (blueberry cheesecake and chocolate pudding) and to lessen the heat - this tasty strawberry lemonade to quench my thirst.

Everytime I visit Serendra, I make it to a point I go to this store to buy something, anything. I see their bottles as collectibles and useful.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka

Boyfie / Fiance surprised me at home and picked me up to bring me to work but instead we went to the mall first to have dinner. When we were in the cab, he looked so sad - the thing is - he was really hungry.

Everytime we think of where to eat, the word RAMEN always comes up. There are so many attempts of trying this restaurant - Santouka in TRINOMA, but sadly they aren't open yet. Then we had to choose another, and another and ended up elsewhere. Where's elsewhere? Mostly KFC, Wendy's and other fast food chains.

When we were in MOA, we were just passing by some stores and he walked right in front of Santouka and said he wanted to eat there. It was FRIDAY night and the crowd downstairs (as Santouka is in the 2nd floor, above Marina) are more excited than usual days and ready to party; the sounds are loud. He doesn't want to eat outside, plus the weather here in the Philippines is freaking hot, I don't want to stay there too. We just checked their menus and ordered as fast as we could.

I ordered Regular SHIO Ramen, one of their best sellers. The crew suggested to try this if this is the first time I'll eat in their store, and yes, it is my first time. This is just salt based ramen but better than what Boyfie had.

He ordered the Ikameshi Set (he was so hungry and needed more to take).

I don't have anything to comment about his food as I only tried the Ikameshi (the squid with sticky rice inside). According to him, the Ramen he has (spicy it is!) isn't that great and just wanted what I ordered. He wasn't so delighted about the food here. I guess no more going back here for the next couple of months.

Skinny Mike's 10 Peso Wings

Every Tuesday from 12:01AM until 11:59PM there's this 10 Peso Wings promo in Skinny Mike's Sports Bar. Their address is 32nd St & Justica Dr, Global Fort Bonifacio 1634, Philippines & can be contacted at +63 2 506 9640.

Order as many as you want with all those spicy or non spicy wings they have. Some are chicken wings and some are small chicken drumsticks. It's super "SULIT" for chicken lovers.

Me and my boyfriend had a meet up with my good friend, Cay. We talked about seeing each other before 9AM at Alphaland / Magallanes MRT Station. However, Cay was late. We didn't wait that long, but one thing's for sure, the weather sucks. We arrived there before 10AM and had to park at the back of Home Depot. Parking wasn't free, it costs 30 pesos per 3 hours and the succeeding hours +10/hr. It wasn't that bad since we will only be there for some time. Just some quick talks, chikas and updates.

Their place is nice. Well, most GUYS would appreciate it - with all those flat screen TVs hanging in their walls playing all those basketball, hockey and other sports event / games.

The promo for the 10 peso wings every Tuesday wasn't listed in their menu. We had to ask the waiter. I totally forgot to take photos of the menu as I was really into trying their chicken wings. I instantly ordered 10 pieces of non-spicy wings.

See, it wasn't bad at all. It's not really that small. It's "sulit" for the promotional price of 10PHP.

The guys ordered those usual breakfast meal. Bacon, pancakes, sausage, eggs and bread.

These were all the chicken wings we ordered. Total of 30 pieces for only 300PHP.

Thanks Cay for the brunch treat and see you again on September for our friend's wedding.

RUB Ribs and BBQ

Finally we were able to try this RUB Ribs and BBQ last weekend. The boyfie and I were in Trinoma and can't decide what to eat. Last option was - Conti's. We had to wait to be seated there. I think there were still 3 groups before us, and I knew that Boyfie will order their ribs (which was also cheap as it only costs less than 400php) so I suggested this RUB Ribs and BBQ in Quezon City.

I have read this in blogs and the review was kind of exciting. Having to pay less than 1000 bucks for a full rack of ribs, who wouldn't try?

It's our first time there, and we had to look for the place and it wasn't hard to find. Beside RUB Ribs and BBQ there is Serenitea.

The location - it's not big AT ALL. There were only 6 tables upstairs. 2 are for 2 persons only and the others can accommodate 4 people per table. You won't be able to move freely as the place is really small. Not that typical restaurant and not as I expected.

The menu - only few to choose from. It's OK, as we didn't go there to try everything, we just wanted to try those cheap Ribs.

The first thing I saw on the table was the Milkshake.

I ordered Strawberry Milkshake. It was also the first one to be served.

Nothing fancy about it, still the ones in 50's Diner (in Baguio City) is the best.

Even though there's just the two of us, we ordered the Family Brunch that's good for 4 person. It includes 3 side dishes but I knew that I cannot help myself from ordering another fave of mine - Macaroni and Cheese.

Then the Ribs with garlic mashed potato, french fries and some french toast.

It's the longest Ribs I've seen so far.

Here's how we look while waiting for the food to be served.

The Ribs: 7/10
The Ambiance: 5/10
The Serving time: 6/10
Overall rating: 6 out of 10.

MYOH 2014

Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH) 2014 is open to public starting today - May 08, 2014. Last May 6, it was an exclusive event for celebrities, bloggers, socialites and whoever gets the invite.

YESTERDAY, it was for US - people who received an email or text message for the invite. I didn't get one; but my friend did and he can invite two other guests and just need to respond to the mail he received. He included my name along with his other friend which I didn't know at first. He only mentioned that to me when I told him about the MYOH to be held in Glorietta on May 8th. We were so lucky, our schedule matched and we can go to this private event / invite.

After work, we headed to Starbucks - Insular Tower for breakfast and I had to meet a friend for business purposes and also my boyfriend. Then 15 minutes after 10am, we went to the event. The line wasn't long, it was an easy step and people were accommodating.

Still the same process how it works, how you can avail a new pair of Havaianas - you can choose from their color wheel. Just like the last time I attended the same event but that was year 2008, if I am not mistaken - it was held at Rockwell Tent.

There were 23 pins to choose from as well.

Did I forgot to mention about their really nice Photo Wall?

What's more fun is that their staffs are nice and easy to talk to. We even have some photos taken with them.

Of course, we had them take our photo too.

I didn't get one for myself as I'm not into Havaianas flip flops this year, but I've got one for my brother. My friend - Dennis, bought himself the red sole with metallic strap and the remaining one with neon green strap is for his best friend. (L-R)

Upon payment, you will receive the "make your wish come true" as I call it bracelet when you purchase the commemorative pair (which is on both sides of the photo above).

If I remember it right, Commemorative pair costs 995php and each pin costs 100php. Go grab yours NOW! They'll be open for public until May 11, 2014. You can give your Mom a present for this coming Mother's Day.

Joining this event made me a "Happy Havaianatico".

New Blog

Don't get me wrong, I love blogging but the thing is - I don't remember my passwords nor my username. I tried to retrieve them, however I always end up creating a new one.

As far as I can remember, I have created more than 4 blogs already but lost all access to ALL of it. DAMN. Now, I had to start again from scratch. Hopefully, this time (since this is linked to my Gmail) I won't forget the log in credentials.

I want to introduce this new blog entitled "ROXY: Everyday Matters" -- a lot of titles I thought of, I guess this one catches attention. Instead of "Life according to Roxy" as the title for my former blog, why not pick what matters to me on a day to day basis? It's not just me, but all of us.

Anyways, so much for introduction. There are thing that I need to set up here today, so much for the first post.
